Georgia school shooting

The recent shooting at Apalachee High School in Winder, Georgia, involved a 14-year-old suspect, Colt Gray, who has been charged with the murder of two students and two teachers. The tragedy took place on September 4, 2024, when Gray allegedly used an AR-15-style rifle to carry out the attack. Nine others were injured in the shooting. Gray is being charged as an adult and could face life without parole due to his juvenile status.

His father, Colin Gray, was also arrested and charged with involuntary manslaughter and second-degree murder. Authorities allege that he knowingly allowed Colt access to the firearm, despite being aware of the potential danger. This case has drawn comparisons to other incidents where parents have been held accountable for their children's actions, reigniting debates on gun storage laws and parental responsibility in preventing such tragedies(

The community, still in shock, is mourning the loss of the victims, including two 14-year-old students and two teachers, both of whom were well-respected members of the school.
